Abstract
G. Lemson will give an introducition to theory in the VO and than he will go in some detail on SimDB, and may point to some SimDB prototypes, the 'volute' work to automate the creation of a reference implementation and possibly the Galmer website in Paris.
After that C. Gheller will take over to introduce the ITVO (Italian Theoretical Virtual Observatory) and introduce SimDAP. That will include an overview of simulation data product types. He will then show some example SimDAP services,
ITVO@Trieste,
ITVO@Catania.
After that L. Lemson will present the Millennium database as a SimDAP/ADQL prototype for publishing large simulation catalogues online, emphasising the use of relational database technology.
In the final part U. Becciani will do the practical session, using VisIVO tool and VisIVOServer.
At the end C. Rodrigo will present the work made about the microphysics simulations.

Software Requirements
- VisIVO
- Windows: 1.4.0.2
- Linux: 1.4.1
(note that if interested you will be given the opportunity during the workshop to install a new, strongly improved version, still in alpha state. It requires however preinstallation of CFITS-IO and HDF5 libraries)
