WP6 Objectives

• Identification of data centres likely to be interested in publishing their data in the VObs in European countries beyond the partners’ countries
• Support to their take-up and implementation of the VObs

WP6 Description of work

• Contacts with European data centre managers
• Identification of their specific needs
• Support to participation to EuroVO Workshops and to implementation, in particular by technical visits
• Gather feedback from data centres

Expected results

• Increased awareness about the VObs framework in the whole European Data Centre Community
• Inclusion of European data centres from other countries in the VObs framework
• Input to the Census of European Data Centres (deliverable D5)

Milestones and deliverables

• Month 8 First PCT meeting: 3&4 May, 2007 (Strasbourg)
• Month 10 First EuroVO-DCA Workshop (deliverable D6, under WP3 responsibility)
• Month 14 Mid-term Board-PCT meeting, 4&5 October 2007 ,Trieste : Assessment of Cycle 1 activities and revised project plan for Cycle 2
• Month 20 Third PCT meeting, 29 May 2008, Strasbourg : Assessment of activity of the first six months of Cycle 2, updated program for the next six months
• Month 24 Second EuroVO-DCA Workshop (deliverable D7, under WP3 responsibility)
• Month 26 Final Board-PCT meeting, 19&20 November 2008, Villafranca del Castillo, Madrid (Spain): Assessment of WP6 activities from deliverable D14 in preparation of the final Board meeting

Activities

VO-Info Days

The Info Days represent the first contact of Data Centers from countries not participating in the EuroVO-DCA project with the Virtual Observatory projects. These initiatives and the DCA workshops will provide them the knowledge and experience necessary to become "publishers" in the VO.
