Details on Acronym:   2CXO
2CXO (Second release of the Chandra Source Catalog) Write:<<2CXO JHHMMSS.s+DDMMSS{|X}>> N: about 150000 Object:(X)  (SIMBAD class: X = X-ray Source) Note:The second release of the Chandra Source Catalog (CSC) is currently under development and is expected early 2014, but we would like to pre-register the acronym. Its nature is identical to the CXO acronym which we reserved exclusively for the first release of the CSC, with one exception: while the first release contained only compact (i.e., unresolved) sources, in this release we will include extended sources as well; if there would a be naming conflict between a compact and an extended source, we will append the letter 'X' to the source name to identify the extended source. Consequently, a source whose name ends in 'X' will be guaranteed to be extended; all other sources may be compact or extended. The rationale for not explicitly identifying compact sources is the large variation in PSF size over Chandra's field of view which makes a specific compact designation meaningless. Auth.:Arnold Rots
