  Note:3XMM is the 6th release of the XMM-Newton X-ray source catalogue. It derives from a full    reprocessing of all public XMM-Newton data up to mid-2012. The reprocessing takes    advantage of several improvements in the scientific analysis, together with use of the    latest calibration information. The catalogue will contain around 40% more sources than    its predecessor, 2XMMi-DR3.
