AP (APOGEE)= (APOGEE) Write:<<AP JHHMMSSss+DDMMSSs>> N: 473306 Object:* (SIMBAD class: Star) Note:The APO Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE) is a large-scale, stellar spectroscopic survey conducted in the near-infrared (H-band). It consists of two generations APOGEE-1 (SDSS-III) and APOGEE-2 (SDSS-IV).
APOGEE-2 is subdivided in APOGEE-2N and APOGEE-2S, which are being carried out from the Northern and Southern hemispheres, respectively, using the Apache Point Observatory (APO) 2.5 m Sloan Foundation telescope and the Las Campanas Observatory (LCO) 2.5 m du Pont telescope. DR16 is the first data release that includes data from the southern instrument/telescope.
