Details on Acronym:   ATELAIS

ATELAIS (Australia Telescope, ELAIS field)
Write:<<ATELAIS JHHMMSS.ss+DDMMSS.s>>
N: 1276
Object:(Rad)  (SIMBAD class: Radio = Radio Source)
Note:The Australia Telescope Large Area Survey (ATLAS) is a project to survey 6 sq deg in the southern sky with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA). We have conducted 1.4 GHz radio observations with the Australia Telescope Compact Array of an area largely coincident with infrared observations of the Spitzer Wide-Area Extragalactic (SWIRE) Survey, centred on the European Large Area ISO Survey (S1) region. The acronym proposed here is similar to the ATCDFS acronym proposed by Ray Norris, to describe radio sources in the Chandra Deep Field South region, which is part of the ATLAS survey. See also [MNC2008].
