Note: | MeerKAT is a sensitive new radio interferometer operating at 0.6-3.5 GHz. With longest baselines of 8 km, the synthesized beam at ∼1.4GHz is typically as small as ∼8arcsec. The primary beam is 1 deg FWHM at ∼1.4 GHz. Several surveys are being carried out with MeerKAT resulting in the discovery/identification of several new compact radio sources, including transients. We seek an unambiguous naming scheme for such sources now that initial papers are being prepared for publication. |
