  Note:The Qatar Exoplanet Survey is a wide-field photometric variability survey    with the primary goal of detecting exoplanetary transit candidates. We    propose to follow conventions already established by other wide-field    searches for transiting exoplanets, by assigning short names of the form    "Qatar <running-number>" to stars that are detected as transiting-planet    hosts, after radial-velocity followup and other confirmatory tests.
