SPICY (Spitzer/IRAC Candidate YSO)
Write:<<SPICY NNNNNN>>
N: about 120000  (SIMBAD class: YSO_Candidate = Young Stellar Object Candidate)
Note:The SPICY catalog is a list of candidate young stellar objects (YSOs), identified using publically available multi-wavelenghth photometry, that exhibit photometric excess in the mid-infrared Spitzer/IRAC bands. The IRAC photometry was obtained from the GLIMPSE I, II, 3D, Galactic Center, Vela-Carina, Cygnus X, and SMOG surveys, and these data are supplemented with photometry, astrometry, and light curves from Gaia, ZTF, UKIDSS, VVV, 2MASS, MIPSGAL, and WISE. Candidates were identified using a random forest classifier, trained on samples of YSOs and non-YSOs from previous studies of the Galactic midplane.
Notes:The catalog paper is titled "SPICY: The Spitzer/IRAC Candidate YSO Catalog for the Inner Galactic Midplane" by Kuhn, de Souza, Krone-Martins, Castro-Ginard, Ishida, Povich, and Hillenbrand, submitted to the AAS Journals. The catalog of ∼120,000 objects is provided in Table 1. For each object, the table provides, where available, cross-matching between the various source catalogs, YSO classification scores, mid-infrared spectral index, YSO class, flags for sources with strong silicate absorption or PAH emission, characterization of source environment from the IRAC images, r-band photometric variability indicators, and assignments to stellar clusters/associations. In addition to the catalog, an album of ∼120,000 3 arcmin by 3 arcmin cutout IRAC images of the local environments around each YSO will be hosted by Zenodo.

Follow-up papers on the ZTF light curves of these objects and their Galactic spatial distribution from Gaia are planned.
