Details on Acronym: YSES YSES (Young Suns Exoplanet Survey)
Object:* + Planet (SIMBAD class: Unknown = Object of Unknown Nature)
Note:The Young Suns Exoplanet Survey was launched in 2017 to directly image extra-solar planets to young, solar-type stars. Most intriguing was the discovery of the first imaged multi-planet system around a Sun-like star that was widely covered in media all over the world (paper: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/2041-8213/aba27e/meta; press release: https://www.eso.org/public/news/eso2011/).
Notes:As YSES just discovered the second planet (paper in preparation), we think that this is the right time to start a catalogue containing the stars of our survey that were found to harbor sub-stellar companions. Similar to transiting exoplanet studies such as the Kepler mission or the TRAPPIST survey, such a designated catalogue would help significantly increasing the visibility of YSES among the community (and also with respect to the general public). So far, we have discovered two planet hosting stars that would receive the identifiers YSES 1 (current Simbad ID: TYC 8998-760-1) and YSES 2 (current Simbad ID: TYC 8984-2245-1). As just 20% of our survey observations are carried out so far, we estimate that several stars with corresponding planets will be added to the catalogue within the next years.
