Cepheids are pulsating variable stars on the
Horizontal Branch in the instability strip. Their initial mass is about 3 to 16 Mo, and they belong to population I. Their spectral type are F-G-K II-I. Their periods range from 1 to 135 days, and amplitudes from 0.1 to 2 mag in V. Corresponding types in the GCVS are : CEP, CEP(B), DCEP, DCEPS.
