Status : Stars on the Main Sequence, or just before, or just leaving the MS towards the Red Giant Branch. Their initial mass are about 1.4 to 3 Mo. They continue the instability strip of the Cepheids. They belong to population I.

Spectral types : A-F with luminosity class V to III.

Variability : Pulsating variable stars of periods 0.05 to 0.2 days and amplitudes smaller than 0.8 mag in V. They follow a Period-Luminosity relation in the conitnuity of the Cepheids. Corresponding types in the GCVS : DSCT and DSCTC.
