Some measurements coming from catalogues IRAS, IRC, SAO, CL.g (ACO), GJ
will no longer exists directly in Simbad in the "measurements" category.
Please, go on http://vizier.u-strasbg.fr/ if you search data on these
specific catalogues.
These measurements are still available from the Simbad web pages using the icon Vizier near the identifier of the catalogue, or at the bottom of the page in the section "External links"

Secure Web protocol HTTPS is now available for SIMBAD.
The queries can be sent to SIMBAD through HTTPS or HTTP as you need.

From the SIMBAD object web page, clickable VizieR icons associated to identifiers (object names) give direct
access to the entry of the objects in VizieR catalogue.
From VizieR you will be able to access pusblished catalogue data and their description.

Due to a CDS network equipment technical upgrade, all CDS services hosted at Strasbourg (Simbad main data base, VizieR main data base Aladin image server, Web sites, ...) will be unreachable during 10mn on Thursday 14 January 2016 around 8:30pm (local time).

Due to a better accuracy in the measurements of proper-motions, values are now stored in mas.yr-1 (instead of arcsec before)

Register to SimWatch to be notified when new papers are attached to your favourite SIMBAD objects.
A new version of TAP library (v2) is now used for SQL-like queries in SIMBAD :
